About this picture

Hollenbek is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The village is first mentioned in a document in the Ratzeburg tithe register in 1230 as Holembeke . There is evidence of a chapel belonging to the parish of Sterley in Hollenbek in 1557, which was closed again before 1581. From 1948 to 2006 the community belonged to the Sterley office, which in 1971 was combined with the Gudow office to form the Gudow-Sterley office . Since the dissolution of the Gudow-Sterley office, the community has belonged to the Lauenburgische Seen office .

politics

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the constituency AWH has four seats since the local elections in 2008, the SPD three and the constituency FWG two.

coat of arms

Blazon : “Of red and green by a tapering silver bar, this is covered with a black rail, divided diagonally to the left. Above is a golden locomotive, below three golden ears of corn slightly fan-shaped. "

traffic

The train station in Hollenbek was opened in 1897. The so-called Kaiserbahn or Kaiserstracke ran from Hagenow Land via Ratzeburg and Bad Oldesloe to Neumünster and connected at both ends to the existing Berlin - Hamburg and Altona - Kiel state railways . In 1899, Hollenbek was also connected to Mölln , this route was nicknamed "Hein Hollenbek".

At the end of the Second World War, an ammunition train exploded in the station.

Hollenbek train station

After all traffic to Mölln was discontinued in 1959, passenger transport to Ratzeburg was discontinued in 1962; Due to the division of Germany , the line to Hagenow had been interrupted since 1945. The tracks in the station area were later largely dismantled.

Today, after the rest of the goods traffic has been discontinued, leisure traffic with draisines is offered on the remaining route under the name Erlebnisbahn Ratzeburg .
