Lankau is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein . Neu-Lankau , Anker, Gretenberg and Marienwohlde are in the municipality.

The municipality is characterized by hills, forests and smaller lakes (such as the Lankauer See). The Elbe-Lübeck Canal forms the western border of the municipality.

history

The first documentary mention was made around the year 1208. The place name is derived from the popular Slavic toponym Lanke .

In 1928 Gretenberge, Anker and Gut Marienwohlde were incorporated on the site of the former Marienwohlde monastery . Since 1948 the community belonged to the office of Nusse , since 2007 to the office of Sandesneben-Nusse.

Economy and Infrastructure

The center of Lankau is about four kilometers northwest of the federal highway 207 Lübeck - Hamburg and the railway line Lübeck - Lüneburg .
