coat of arms

Blazon : "On green sign foot, in a golden mill wheel with paired Speichung in gold a black barge with silver sails, whose lying below the waterline part disappears in the sign. In the left upper corner an upright green beech leaf. "

The black barge indicates the historical means of transport on the Delvenau-Stecknitz Canal . The green beech leaf is related to the name of the place and the golden mill wheel stands for the Kiekenmühle, which had to give way to the construction of the canal.

Buchhorster forest railway

On a disused field railway line of a former brick and match factory, field railway enthusiasts have been running the Buchhorster Forest Railway since 1988 .
