Sierksrade is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein (Germany). It was best known for the nearby Ziegelei Groß Weeden disco , on whose premises an initial reception facility for 1,500 to 2,000 refugees was to be set up.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in the Ratzeburg tithe register from 1230. In 1937 the village , which belonged to Lübeck as an exclave, was assigned to the Duchy of Lauenburg by the Greater Hamburg Act . Since 1948 the community has belonged to the Berkenthin office.
