history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1194 in the Isfried partition contract . The local manor was owned by the von Krummesse family. Since 1889, the community has been part of the Berkenthin district . The manor was incorporated into the community in 1928. The Bismarckian settlement built in 1952 and the rose settlement built in 1956 took in displaced persons from the former German eastern regions.
