Vahrenwalder Strasse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The House of Economic Development , formerly Continental AG , marks the beginning of Vahrenwalder Straße as Hanover's arterial road

The Vahrenwalder street in Hannover is a main road and one of the largest transport arteries of the capital of Lower Saxony. The trunk road , at the same time feeder and main exit road , connects downtown Hanover to the north with federal highway 2 near Langenhagen .

History and description

The Vahrenwalder Straße lies in the course of an old country road in the direction of Stade , which was therefore initially named Stader Straße at the time of the Kingdom of Hanover in 1845 . The traffic route did not get its current official name until 1853. Later, however, the street names Stader Chaussee and Stader Landstraße were also common names.

As an arterial road, Vahrenwalder Straße now runs at the level of Weidendamm street to Berliner Platz and touches the districts of Vahrenwald , Brink-Hafen and Vahrenheide .
