lesson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One lesson (from Latin lectio = what has been read) in the old church was the "reading" of a biblical section , a martyr's story, etc. by the lecturer during the service as well as in the monasteries (usually in the refectory at table times) by the Reading master .

Of use, the lesson complaints and reminders to make, comes the phrase someone a lesson (d. H. Someone a lesson miss). Lessons were later called the lectures held at the university or, in a certain context, the school lesson and the sections of a textbook , such as a grammar textbook , intended for an hour .

In German-speaking Switzerland , lessons are not referred to as lessons, but rather lessons (see article on the Swiss education system ).
