Lower values are registered at 69% of the measuring stations of the German Weather Service . The driest month is April, with the most rainfall in December. In December there is 1.5 times as much rainfall as in April. Precipitation hardly varies and is evenly distributed over the year. history
Settlement finds from the late Hallstatt period around 700 BC Chr. Suggest an early settlement. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1282 and 1284 in connection with donations to the Prüm Abbey . In a church register of the Archbishop of Cologne Heinrich von Virneburg from 1316 the parish "Meren" is already mentioned. Ecclesiastically, Mehren belonged to the Archdiocese of Cologne .
Until the end of the 18th century, Mehren belonged to the electorate of Trier and was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Daun office . Mehren was the seat of a center .
In 1794 the Left Bank of the Rhine was occupied by French revolutionary troops in the First Coalition War. From 1798 to 1814, Mehren belonged to the canton of Daun in the Saardepartement .
At the Congress of Vienna (1815), the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia , Mehren in 1816 the newly built district down in Trier assigned by the and mayor Daun managed.
After the Second World War , the municipality of Mehren within the French occupation zone became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
