Salm in the Vulkaneifel is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Gerolstein community .

geography

The community lies in the landscape area "Salmer hills" that the East Eifel belongs. The river Salm rises near the village and flows into the Moselle at Klüsserath . Salm also includes the Forsthaus Salm, Friedorfer Hof and Lindenhof residential areas .

history

The village of Salm was first mentioned in 1225 in a document from the Himmerod Abbey.
