Arbach is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the association community Kelberg .
Geographical location
The community is located in the northeast of the nature park Eifel and in the conservation area "Kelberg". The Auf der Höh residential area also belongs to Arbach .
history
The first mention of the place as Arrebarre , Arrebach can be found in a document from July 15, 1336 by Count Robert III. from Virneburg .
Arbach belonged to the county of Virneburg until the end of the 18th century . After the occupation of the Left Bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops (1794), the place was part of the French state from 1798 to 1814 and was assigned to the canton of Virneburg in the Rhine-Moselle department . In 1815 the region was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . From 1816 on, Arbach belonged to the mayor's office in Virneburg in the Adenau district ( Coblenz district ) and from 1822 to the then newly formed Rhine province .
In 1932 the district of Adenau was dissolved, Arbach came to the district of Mayen .
As part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform , Arbach was reclassified together with 27 other communities on November 7, 1970 from the district of Mayen, which was dissolved at the same time, to the district of Daun (since 2007 district Vulkaneifel).

Kaiserlinde
As in several communities in this area, which were long under Napoleonic rule, the centenary liberation from the “yoke of the French” was celebrated here in 1913 and a so-called imperial linden tree was planted in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm II and a memorial stone was erected. He can still be seen on Schulstrasse at the old school.
