In 1563 Brockscheid had seven fireplaces under the name Prockscheid and six in 1684 . Wonderfully country belonged to the village by the end of the 18th century to the Electorate of Trier and shelter as part of the centering Udler the management of the Office and High Court Daun.

Bell foundries

In Brockscheid there are two of only a few bell foundries in Germany.

  • The bell foundry tradition of the Mark family can be traced back to 1620. The Eifeler bell foundry , located in Brockscheid since 1840 and in the sixth generation, is run by the only female bell founder in Europe, Cornelia Mark-Maas (as of February 2011).
  • Bell and artificial casting Hermann Schmitt is the second foundry.

Archaeological monuments

Halfway towards Liesertal you can see the foundations of the so-called Geisenburg. The castle, built in 1340, was originally named Freudenstein .
