Nitz is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the association community Kelberg .

The place is in the Eifel at the Nitzbach , a tributary of the Nette . About 5 kilometers to the west are the Nürburgring and the Hohe Acht , at 746.9  m above sea level. NHN the highest mountain in the Eifel.

history

In the Middle Ages, Nitz belonged to the County of Nürburg. In 1815 the place became Prussian and administered by the Kelberg mayor in the Adenau district; Since the municipal reform of 1970, Nitz has been part of the Kelberg Association and the Vulkaneifel district.
