Winkel (Eifel) is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . She belongs to the community of Daun .
geography
The community lies in the Vulkaneifel Nature Park and the conservation area "between Ueß and Kyll ". It is divided into the districts of Niederwinkel and Oberwinkel.
The municipality includes the residential places Birkenhof, Eichenhof, hunting lodge, Kreuzhof, Pappelhof, Reimelshof, Talhof and Tommelhof.
history
The first mention of the place as "Winkela" can be found in a document dated August 1, 1144, in which King Conrad III. the Springiersbach monastery confirmed its ownership in Winkel. From Emperor Heinrich VI. the monastery was re-confirmed in 1193.
Angle part with felt , Wagenhausen and Wollmerath to rule Wollmerath that a hereditary fief of the Counts of Wied was under the sovereignty of Kurtrier stood.
