Geographical location

The place is south of Ulmen and east of Daun in the Vulkaneifel .

history

Filz belonged together with Wagenhausen , Winkel and Wollmerath to the Wollmerath lordship , which was inherited from the Count of Wied and was under the sovereignty of Kurtrier .

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops , the rule of Kurtrier ended. In 1815 the place was awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . Since 1946 the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Municipal council

The council in felt consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
