Tellig from the south

Tellig is a municipality in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Zell (Mosel) .

geography

Tellig is located in the northern Hunsrück on the edge of the Altlayer Bachtal about 5 km from the Moselle , near the B 421 .

history

The place was mentioned in a document as Tellich in 1275. From 1794 Tellig was under French rule and from 1798 to 1814 belonged to the canton of Zell in the Rhine-Moselle department . In 1815 the place was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . In the Theodor mine near Tellig , lead and zinc ore deposits were mined at the beginning of the 20th century. The Althaus settlement near Tellig was built by the RAD ( Reich Labor Service ) in 1937. Tellig has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .

Municipal council

The municipal council in Tellig consists of eight council members who were elected by a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman. Until 2014, the council had six council members.

Tellig is located south of the federal highway 421 , via which you can reach the town of Zell (Mosel), about ten kilometers away, and the Bullay (DB) train station on the Moselle route Trier - Koblenz , 15 kilometers away .
