Justification for the coat of arms: The golden wooden shoe is the attribute of the church patron of St. Servatius; its patronage already indicates a medieval chapel in the village (1511). The abbot's staff indicates the possession of the Brauweiler Abbey, which has owned large estates here since the gift of the Polish queen Richeza (1053). Up to 1728 the place belonged to the parish and the Hochgerichtung Klotten, in both seals Saint Maximus appears with the bear. The golden core illustrates the place name. The green field indicates that agriculture is still practiced today. |
