Culture and sights
Buildings
Sights are the Pünderich Marienburg , which is also the namesake of the local vineyard, as well as the longest (railway) slope viaduct in Germany with a length of 786 m . Also worth seeing are the old ferry house from 1621 and the old town hall from 1548. The place has numerous other half-timbered buildings from the 16th century. The Prinzenkopf observation tower is an interesting viewing platform with a wonderful view . The wooden observation tower built in the early 1980s was demolished in September 2008. A new steel observation tower was opened in June 2009.
Since summer 2008, the “Old Ferry House” on the Fährkopf has been operated as a refreshment stop on sunny weekends. Depending on the weather, it is open from the beginning of May to the end of October. In principle, the Moselle ferry "Marienburg" also operates during the day during this period.
Museums
Above the church in Düppelstraße there is still the “squirrel house” built from broken slate stones. Large and small oak wine barrels were calibrated there until 1981.
The Fasseichstätte is still equipped as a museum today as it was in the old days. In the background are two iron kettles with a capacity of 1200 liters and 150 liters. There are counters on the iron kettles. An old wood stove was used to light up the branding irons. The original calibration tools shown below can still be viewed today.

Economy and Infrastructure
The main source of income is still viticulture (mostly Riesling ), flanked by tourism. In recent years, many modern guest rooms and holiday apartments have been built, some of them with "star quality". Because Pünderich is one of the few places on the Moselle that is not separated from the banks of the Moselle by road or rail, Pünderich has meanwhile become a popular holiday destination. Many guests also come from neighboring villages in summer to relax in the meadows on the banks of the Moselle under the walnut trees. Two campsites and a motorhome parking space complete the tourist offer.
Pünderich is on the Moselle route . The Pünderich – Traben-Trarbach railway branches off there.
