Coat of arms of Durfus
Blazon : "Shield quartered, field 1: in gold a black urn, field 2: in green a silver rose, field 3: in red a silver rafter, field 4: in gold a wide black knife at an angle to the left."
Justification of the coat of arms: The cinder urn from prehistoric times comes from the "Häckelsberg" and was found there in 1929 during excavation work. The rose refers to the courtyard of the Rosenthal Monastery , which the monastery acquired from Heinrich von Polch in 1297 . The von Pyrmont also owned a farm in the village; the rafter beam comes from their coat of arms. The knife (Schindmesser) points to the church patron, St. Bartholomäus, attested since the chapel was built in 1684.
