Haserich is a municipality in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Zell (Mosel) .

geography

Haserich is located (about 440 m high) in the Hunsrück in one of the basins of the Flaumbach near the federal highway 421 and about 1.5 km east of the larger town of Blankenrath . The valley of the Moselle is reached in about 13 km at Zell or via the state road 202 to Treis-Karden in about 25 km.

history

The area around Haserich is old settlement land. At Haserich, the Nahe-Mosel Celtic Trail branches off into one branch to Senheim and one to Treis. Barrows bear witness to the early settlement. The place was first mentioned in documents in 1504. Haserich was plundered and partially cremated by French troops on January 20, 1690 during the War of the Palatinate Succession . The Counts of Sponheim had jurisdiction in the "Hasericher care" until 1788. Haserich was the central court at that time. From 1794 Haserich was under French rule . In 1815 the place was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . Since 1946 it has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate . Through the 8th Administrative Simplification Act of July 18, 1970, with effect from November 7, 1970, the community came from the Senheim community to the Zell (Mosel) community .
