Blazon : “obliquely square of silver and green. In the first field a black saw, in the second field two golden roses in stakes, in field 3 two interlocking silver rings in stake and in field 4 a green urn. " | |
Justification for the coat of arms: The saw is the attribute of St. Josef, who has been the patron saint of the community since the branch chapel was built in 1698. The roses are to remind of the monastery Rosenthal , which had the largest property in the place. The Himmerod Abbey also owned a farm in the village very early on and received tithing; for this reason the two rings from the coat of arms of the abbey. A church window still points to the monastery today. The urn from the 8/9. Century was uncovered in 1959 in the corridor "Steinreich". |
