Brachtendorf is a municipality in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Kaisersesch association.
geography
Brachtendorf is in the Eastern Eifel . The closest basic centers are Kaisersesch , about seven kilometers to the west, and Treis-Karden on the Moselle, about eight kilometers south of the town. The Brohlbach flows through the municipality .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1189 under the name "Brachindorp". "Brathendorf" (1250), "Brattendorf" (1252) and "Brachtdorff" (1592) were later mentioned. Until the end of the 18th century, Brachtendorf belonged to the rulers of Kurtrier and was assigned to the high court of Klotten in the office of Cochem . In the Trier fire book from 1563 there were 28 fireplaces (households) in Brachtendorf, in 1684 there were only nine.
In 1794 French revolutionary troops annexed the Left Bank of the Rhine , from 1798 to 1814 Brachtendorf belonged to the canton of Cochem in the Koblenz arrondissement of the Rhine-Moselle department . Under the French administration had for Brachtendorf extent a peculiarity that this community to the otherwise to Canton Kaisersesch assigned Mairie belonged Kaisersesch. Brachtendorf consisted of 15 houses in 1808, in which 65 residents lived. The Munizipalrat (Brachtendorfer community representative in the Mairie Kaisersesch) was the citizen carter.

Under the Prussian administration, the municipality of Brachtendorf became part of the mayor's office in Kaisersesch in the Cochem district , which belonged to the new administrative district of Koblenz and, from 1822, to the Rhine province .
The municipality of Brachtendorf has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 , has belonged to the Kaisersesch association since 1968 and to the Cochem-Zell district since 1969 .

Municipal council

Buildings
In Brachtendorf there are various buildings that the whole community can use. On the one hand, this includes the rifle hall, where the marching band and the club of the rifle brotherhood rehearse regularly. In addition, the large hall in Brachtendorf is a popular place for birthday and other celebrations. In addition to its purpose, the Brachtendorf fire station is used to accommodate the fire engine for holding festivities (e.g. village festival, sports festival, fair).

Brachtendorf has a lively club life. In addition to the two registered associations of the St. Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft 1892 e. V. with its subdivision Schützencorps Brachtendorf and the sport club Blaue Jungs e. V. the Möhnen, the women's community and the volunteer fire brigade are still active.
