East Midlands is one of the nine regions of England and consists of most of the Eastern Midlands .

The largest cities are Derby , Leicester and Nottingham , where the administrative center is also. East Midlands Airport is located between these cities . The region is connected to London by the Midland Mainline high-speed trains . The M1 Motorway also runs through the region.
