Uppingham is a civil parish in the English Unitary Authority Rutland in the East Midlands . In 2004 it had 3947 inhabitants.

In the village there is the boarding Uppingham School , which was founded in the 1584th

The A-road A6003 road through Uppingham and connects the place with Oakham in the north and Corby and Kettering in the south. At the northern end of the village, the A6003 crosses the A47 road (west to Leicester , east to Peterborough , Wisbech , King's Lynn , Norwich , Great Yarmouth ).
