East of Nuneaton, the road is only designated as a primary route up to its junction with the A5 road . It then runs parallel to the M69 motorway past Hinckley , crosses (no connection) the M1 motorway west of Leicester . At its eastern edge will route for Primary, proceeds according Uppingham where after Oakham leading A6003 road is crossed, southwest of Stamford in Duddington A43 road . In Wansford , the A47 crosses the A1 road, which has been developed as a dual carriageway . It bypasses Peterborough largely in four lanes in the north and crosses the A15 road , and the A16 road branches off to the north. At Thorney in den Fens the route turns onto the route of the B1443 road coming from the River Welland and runs in a straight line to the confluence of the A141 road in Ring's End south of Guyhirn . The road continues along the River Nene , bypassing Wisbech to the southeast and crossing the A1101 road . Shortly before King 'Lynn, the A47 takes the A17 road coming from Sleaford , crosses the Great Ouse , crosses the A10 road and leaves the A149 road branching off northeast towards Hunstanton . The A47 continues east via Swaffham , where it crosses the A1065 road , passes through Dereham and continues towards Norwich , which is bypassed in four lanes south on a wide bypass opened in 1992; the A11 road , the A140 road and the A148 road are crossed on overpasses. The A1074 road leads into the center of Norwich from the west. The north bypass of the A1270 road branches off east of Norwich . The A47 continues to Great Yarmouth on the coast of the North Sea , turns there to the south and, since February 2017, has followed a section of the coast that previously formed a section of the A12 road to Lowestoft, the easternmost city in the British Isles, where it merges into the A12.
