The A43 road ( English for road A43 ) is a 100 km long road, designated for almost its entire length as a primary route , which branches off the M40 motorway at Ardley at junction 10 to the north and with separate lanes past Brackley , where the A422 road leads to Towcester where it intersects A5 road . In between is Silverstone , known for its Formula I races , which bypasses the road but is driven through by the A413 road . The A43 continues on to the M1 motorway , which it crosses at junction 15A and then bypasses Northampton . The A508 road is crossed and the A428 road and the A45 road branch off. The A43 leads to Kettering , which is bypassed in the west, where the A14 road crosses . At Corby the A427 road is crossed and the road becomes two lanes . The A47 road crosses in Duddington and the road continues to the A1 road , where it loses its character as a primary route, and a short distance into the center of Stamford , where it ends.
