The A422 road ( English for road A422 ) is a designated primary route , 134 km long road at Bromham (Bedfordshire) west of Bedford from the A428 road and mainly in a west-southwest direction, a short distance together with the A509 road and the M1 motorway crossing (no connection), leads through Milton Keynes , then shares a part of the course with the A5 road and leaves this direction Buckingham and continues to Brackley . The A422 crosses the A43 road there and becomes the primary route. It continues to Banbury and just east of this city crosses the M40 motorway at its junction 11. In Banbury, u. a. exit the A423 road north. The A422, from this point no longer a primary route, now turns to the northwest, crosses the Fosse Way (B4455 road) and shortly afterwards the A429 road and reaches Stratford-on-Avon . On the western edge of the city it joins the A46 road and separates from this again in Alcester , where the of Birmingham forthcoming A435 road opens. On its further course to Worcester , the road is again a primary route. It meets the A44 road east of this city and ends there.
