The A509 road ( English for road A509 ) is a major road in England that is almost continuously designated as a primary route , the one from Milton Keynes , where it branches off from the A5 road together with the A4146 road , initially north to the M1 motorway (junction 14) which crosses the A422 road after it has been four-lane for a while, separates from the A422 at Sherington and continues its course further north. As a result, the A428 road is crossed. After bypassing Wollaston , the four-lane A45 road is crossed and the road is led around Wellingborough to the west ; the River Nene is crossed. The A509 resumes its northward direction, crosses the A14 road south of Kettering, which has been developed with four lanes and no level junctions , loses its character as a primary route and continues to Wicksteed Park on the edge of Kettering, where it ends.
