The River Welland is a 105 km long river in eastern England. It rises at Market Harborough in Northamptonshire and flows from there in a northeasterly direction through Stamford , Market Deeping and Spalding into the North Sea , into which it flows below Fosdyke in the bay The Wash . It is one of the major waterways in what is known as South Holland's part of the Fens in Lincolnshire . Below Spalding it depends on the tide.
