Lutterworth is a small town and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire in England . At the 2011 census it had a population of 9907.

location

The city is eleven kilometers north of Rugby in Warwickshire and 15 miles south of Leicester .

history

King John granted the town market rights in 1214 . A market is still held here today. From 1374 to 1384 John Wycliffe was the principal of St. Mary's Church. This is where the first translation of the Bible from Latin into English that he carried out took place.

Lutterworth has a partnership with the French commune of Chambourcy in Île-de-France.
