geography
Chambourcy is located in the metropolitan area about 25 kilometers west-northwest of Paris . Neighboring municipalities are Poissy in the north, Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the east, Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche in the south, Feucherolles in the southwest and Aigremont in the west.
The A14 autoroute runs through the municipality .

In 1224, Joyenval Abbey was founded by Barthélemy de Roye (destroyed in the 18th century).
