Surname
The name "Maisons" comes from the Latin mansio , which means something like place of residence (today the French word "maison" is translated as "house"). Until 1882 the place was called Maisons-sur-Seine , a name that indicates its location on the Seine. The name part "Laffitte" goes to the banker Jacques Laffitte back of the the Castle aufteilte belonging Park into smaller plots and the new owners , the building material by the demolition of the outbuildings of the existing castle of François Mansart made available.
present
Maisons-Laffitte with its racecourse and park is one of the most popular and expensive suburbs of Paris. However, a park should not be thought of as a botanical garden. Rather, the park is a total of spacious, villa-like properties, which, however, represent a welcome change from the big city life - all the more so as the spacious, geometrically laid out avenues are still subject to Laffitte's requirements and in their neat freshness for walking, Jogging or invite you to a summer picnic.
