Andrésy is a French municipality with 13,324 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Region Ile-de-France in the department of Yvelines . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the canton of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine . The inhabitants are called Andrésiens .
geography
In the east of the municipality the Oise flows into the Seine , on the northern bank of which the municipality is located. The Seine island Île Nancy is a well-known nature park. Andrésy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Maurecourt in the north, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine in the northeast and east, Achères in the southeast, Carrières-sous-Poissy in the south and Chanteloup-les-Vignes in the west.
history
The early name of the place was Anderitianorum Parisii . As the original Undresiacum settlement, the settlement was already known in the Roman Empire. As early as 710, a document from Chilperich II contained the place name Andresy.
