Villennes-sur-Seine is a French municipality with 5282 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . The name Villennes is derived from the Latin villa . The name Villennes-sur-Seine was created in 1907.

geography

Villennes-sur-Seine is located on the left bank of the Seine , eleven kilometers west of Saint-Germain-en-Laye . The municipality is bounded by Médan to the north, Orgeval to the west and Poissy to the east .

The territory of the municipality includes an island in the Seine: on this Île de Villennes there is a private estate. Villennes-sur-Seine train station is served by the Paris regional train ( ligne de banlieue ).
