Le Mesnil-le-Roi is on the left bank of the Seine . It is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Maisons-Laffitte in the north, Montesson in the east and Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the south and west.

To the west is the Forêt de Saint-Germain-en-Laye , a 35 square kilometer forest area.
