Carrières-sous-Poissy is a municipality with 16,212 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France in France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and is part of the canton of Poissy . The inhabitants are called Carriérois .
geography
Carrières-sous-Poissy is located on the right bank of the Seine , about nine kilometers northwest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye . In the north it is bounded by Chanteloup-les-Vignes , Andrésy and Achères in the north-east, Poissy in the east and south, in the south-west by Villennes-sur-Seine and Triel-sur-Seine in the north-west.
