The Verbandsgemeinde Ulmen is an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the district of Cochem-Zell in Rhineland-Palatinate . The municipality of the association includes the city of Ulmen and 15 independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous city of Ulmen. Your area covers a section of the Vulkaneifel .
The federal highway 48 and the federal highways 257 and 259 run through the area. In addition to the town of Ulmen with the Ulmen Maar , the Ulmen castles and the Jungferweiher, the Büchel Air Base and the spa town of Bad Bertrich are well known beyond the region .

mayor
Alfred Steimers (CDU) has been the mayor of the Ulmen community since January 1, 2010. In the direct election on September 24, 2017, he was confirmed in his office for a further eight years with a share of the vote of 83.6%. Steimers is the successor to Hans-Werner Ehrlich, who has held the office since 1993.
