Densborn in the Vulkaneifel is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Gerolstein community . Densborn is a state-approved resort .
geography
location
Densborn is located in the western part of the Nature Park Eifel and partly in the conservation area "between Ueß and Kyll ". The Kyll flows through the village. About three quarters of the district of Densborn is made up of forest.
To Densborn includes the residential places Altenhof, Forsthaus Meis bridge, Herscheiderhof, Jagdhaus Hubertus reason Lindenhof and Nollbergerhof.

The annual precipitation is 864 mm. The precipitation is in the upper third of the values recorded in Germany. Lower values are registered at 74% of the measuring stations of the German Weather Service . The driest month is April, with most precipitation falling in November. In November there is 1.5 times more rainfall than in April. Precipitation hardly varies and is evenly distributed over the year. Lower seasonal fluctuations are recorded at only 11% of the measuring stations .
history
Densborn was first mentioned in a document in the Prümer Urbar in 893 under the name "Denesbure". The Prüm Abbey owned five farms and a mill in Densborn. The Densborn watermill was built in 1762.
As part of the Rhineland-Palatinate functional and territorial reform, Densborn was reclassified together with 14 other communities on November 7, 1970 from the district of Prüm , which was dissolved at the same time, to the district of Daun (since 2007 district Vulkaneifel).
