Gönnersdorf is a municipality in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Gerolstein community .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1136 as Guntersdorf in connection with a deed of donation from Bishop Albero of Basel to Kerpen . Of course, the place should already be much older. Gönnersdorf probably originated as early as the time of the Franks around the 8th to 10th centuries. There are archaeological finds of early Franconian graves and road remains from Roman times were found during construction work .
The spelling of the name changed several times over the years, e.g. B. in Gondersdorf , Gundersdorf and Gundeszdorph . In the early church registers (1695–1798) of the parish of Lissendorf one wrote Junnersdorf . In the Middle Ages Gönnersdorf belonged to the County of Blankenheim . Three local fiefs were named in the documents as Blankenheim property. The people of Blankenheim were also entitled to high jurisdiction . In the 17th century, 17 farms were recorded in one document. After the French era, the Rhineland became part of Prussia and Gönnersdorf was assigned to the Birgel-Lissendorf mayor. With the municipal reform in 1970, the community of Gönnersdorf became part of the newly formed association community Obere Kyll, based in Jünkerath.
