Heinrich Wiesen (born September 16, 1928 in Gönnersdorf ; † February 7, 2012 in Brühl ) was a German judge and most recently President of the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Düsseldorf .

Life

After graduating from high school, Wiesen first studied Romance studies, German studies and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1950 and wanted to become a teacher. His research into the history of his place of birth comes from this time. In 1951/52 he was able to spend an academic year at the Sorbonne as part of his Romance studies . After a conference on the history of the UN in Paris , in which he was allowed to participate and at which the lawyers had the floor, he switched to law in the summer semester of 1952 . In 1956 he passed the first state examination in law and after a three-year legal traineeship in Aachen and Cologne, the second state examination in May 1960. In addition, he did his doctorate in Bonn in 1962.

Wiesen entered the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 27, 1960 at the Cologne Regional Court . From 1963 to 1976 he worked in the Ministry of Justice, first seconded, then from 1967 on a permanent position as a government director , from 1969 as a ministerial advisor and most recently a year later (September 1970) as a senior ministerial advisor. On January 29, 1976 he was appointed President of the Duisburg Regional Court and on September 1, 1978 President of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. In addition, on January 1, 1984, he was appointed Vice President of the Constitutional Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

After reaching the age of 65, Wiesen retired on September 30, 1993 . Even in his retirement he remained connected to the OLG, not least through his involvement in founding the Association for the Promotion of Art and Culture in the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court.

Wiesen was involved in the Lions Club Cologne-Colonia and was president there in 1985/86. He was married, had two children and last lived in Brühl.
