The BWV Berliner Science Verlag GmbH (formerly Berlin Verlag Arno Spitz GmbH ) is a German academic publisher based in Berlin . The publishing house belonging to the media group Deutscher Apotheker Verlag was founded in 1962 by Arno Spitz (1920–2014) in Berlin-Dahlem .

In the subjects of law, economics, politics, sociology, history and philosophy, the BWV is particularly dedicated to research areas that cannot be assigned to traditional academic disciplines.
