Anne-José Paulsen

Anne-José Paulsen (born August 23, 1952 in Meerbusch ) is a German lawyer and former president of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court .

Life

Paulsen studied law and passed the first state examination in 1976 and the second in 1979. In 1979 she was appointed a probationary judge at the Düsseldorf Regional Court. From 1980 she worked in the administration of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, from 1982 onwards as a judge at the Regional Court. In 1983 she moved to the Ratingen District Court as a criminal judge . She then belonged to a civil chamber for patent matters at the Düsseldorf Regional Court before she was appointed to a trial in a civil senate of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court responsible for commercial matters .

Paulsen, who was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court in 1987, started working on personnel matters at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court in 1986 and in 1989 was employed as a personnel officer in the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1992 she was a member of a trade senate at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. In 1996 she was appointed Vice President of the Mönchengladbach Regional Court , and in 1998 she was appointed President of the Bochum Regional Court .

In March 2002 Anne-José Paulsen was appointed President of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court and served until February 2018. From 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the Constitutional Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . Since December 2008 she has been its second vice-president. Her term ended in February 2018.

From 2002 to 2007 Paulsen was chairwoman of the advisory board of the law faculty of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf . In 2007 she became chairwoman of the university council. In addition, she is one of the few female members on the advisory board of the renowned Industry Club Düsseldorf .
