Kelberg Mayor's Office
The Kelberg mayor's office was one of five, later six, Prussian mayor's offices into which the Adenau district, formed in 1816 in the Koblenz administrative district (then "Coblenz administrative district") was administratively divided. From 1822 on, the Koblenz administrative district, including the Kelberg mayor, belonged to the Rhine province that was newly formed that year . 28 municipalities were under the administration of the mayor's office .
In 1927 the mayor's office in Kelberg was renamed to Amt Kelberg . After the dissolution of the Adenau district in 1932, the Kelberg district came to the Mayen district and three municipalities to the Ahrweiler district . In 1968, the Kelberg Association was created from the Kelberg Office .

The municipalities in Bürgermeistereibezirk Kelberg belonged to the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by France to the two electorates Electorate of Cologne ( Office Nurburg ) and Kurtrier ( office down ). In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the left bank of the Rhine. Under the French administration , the area belonged to the arrondissement of Bonn ( canton Adenau and canton Ulmen ), which was assigned to the Rhine-Moselle department .
Kelberg Mayor's Office
Based on the resolutions at the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the Rhineland was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia . Under the Prussian administration, administrative districts , districts and mayor's offices as well as associated communities were formed in 1816 . The mayor's office in Kelberg belonged to the Adenau district in the Coblenz administrative district and from 1822 to the then newly formed Rhine province . The territorial status and the municipality allocation remained unchanged in the following 110 years.
Kelberg Office
Like all the mayor's offices in the Rhine Province, the Kelberg mayor's office was renamed "Amt Kelberg" in 1927.
Due to the "Ordinance on the reorganization of the districts" of August 1, 1932, the Adenau district was dissolved on September 30, 1932. The Kelberg office, with the exception of the municipalities of Meuspath , Müllenbach and Nürburg , was assigned to the Mayen district . Meuspath, Müllenbach and Nürburg were assigned to the Adenau office in the Ahrweiler district.
The Kelberg office existed until the formation of the Kelberg Association on October 1, 1968.

According to a “Topographical-Statistical Description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Provinces” from 1830, the Kelberg mayor's office included a patch , 19 villages , eleven hamlets , seven farms and six mills . In 1817 a total of 3,255 inhabitants were counted in the associated communities; In 1828 there were 3,478 inhabitants, including 1,785 men and 1,693 women; all inhabitants belonged to the Catholic faith.
Further details are taken from the "Community encyclopedia for the Kingdom of Prussia" from 1888, which is based on the results of the census of December 1, 1885. A total of 3,724 residents in 749 households lived in the administrative area of the Kelberg mayor's office; 1,864 of the residents were male and 1,860 female. Regarding religious affiliation, all but four Protestant residents were Catholic.
In 1885 the total area of the 28 associated municipalities was 10,376 hectares , of which 6,606 hectares were arable land, 1,249 hectares of meadows and 3,455 hectares of forest.
