Zermüllen is a part of the local community Kelberg in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Geographical location

Zermüllen is located in the valley of the Trierbach north of the main town. Federal highway 257 runs through Zermüllen .

history

Zermüllen means "to the mill" and refers to two mills that used to be near the village.

In 1563 Zermüllen was mentioned with 17 fire places. In 1817 Zermüllen had 151 inhabitants. The chapel in Zermüllen was built in 1718, but had to be demolished in 1939 to procure material for the war. After the war, an emergency church was built in 1945 , until the chapel was finally rebuilt between 1953 and 1955.

On January 1, 1970, the previously independent local community Zermüllen was incorporated into the local community Kelberg.
