The Trierbach is an approximately 25 km long right tributary of the Ahr flowing to the northwest with a water catchment area of over 116 km², which is officially listed under the river code number 27184.

The Trierbach rises on the Hochkelberg southeast of Köttelbach, a district of Kelberg . On its north-western route to the Ahr, it first flows through the Kelberg district, then forms the border between Kelberg and, one after the other, the local communities of Müllenbach , Wiesemscheid and Bauler . Then the brook forms the border between Bodenbach and Bauler, between Dankerath and Pomster , between Trierscheid and Hoffeld and Pomster, between Hoffeld and Werft , until it flows into the Ahr in Müsch . Shortly before the mouth, the stream also bears the name Triergraben.
Catchment area and tributaries
The 116.2 km² catchment area drains via the Ahr and Rhine to the North Sea .

history
In the period from the 13th century to the end of the 18th century, the Trierbach was part of the border between the territories of Kurköln on the right and Kurtrier on the left of the stream. The Electorate of Trier villages were Köttelbach, Kelberg, Zermüllen and Rothenbach, the Electorate of Cologne Bauler and Pomster.
