The Nohner Bach is an approximately eighteen kilometer long, southern and left tributary of the Trierbach in the districts of Vulkaneifel and Ahrweiler .
geography
course
The Nohner Bach rises about one kilometer northeast of Boxberg . The spring is located at about 575 m above sea level on the western slope of a nameless double knoll in the forest, over the summit of which the watershed runs to the Trierbach flowing further east .
At the very beginning, the Nohner Bach flows towards Boxberg, but before reaching the village it turns its course in a north-northwest direction towards Gelenberg. Opposite the village on the hillside, it takes its first major inflow from the east and then bends in its inflow direction to the west. Then he follows the state road 70 to Bongard , which is already on both sides of another right-hand bend of the stream to the north, just behind a narrow valley formed by the Barsberg ( 599.6 m ) in the northeast and the Eisenberg ( 563.9 m ) in the southwest.
At the end of the arch it continues to flow to the north, finally at a distance between Borler in the west and Bodenbach in the east. From the eponymous place it takes its main tributary coming from the east, the Bodenbacher Bach, bends again in the direction of the inflow to the west and passes Borler close to the north. Below the village, it starts between forest slopes down to the edge of the floodplain next to the Willesperberg ( 479.2 m ) on the right side of the valley to another long curve to the right, in which it runs between the right edge mountain Suhrbusch ( 503 m ) and the one on the left slope built Nohn temporarily runs north. But then it continues to swing until it runs northeast, and then passes at the feet of Trierscheid, which is on the right edge of the hill above the hillside forest. Immediately after crossing state road 72 , it flows into the Ahr tributary Trierbach, which is approaching from the south, at a height of around 330 m .
Catchment area and tributaries
The catchment area of the Nohner Bach is over 33 km² and drains into the North Sea via Trierbach, Ahr and Rhine. The watershed runs in the northeast and east to the receiving Trierbach, in the south on the uppermost course briefly to the Lieser , which drains south to the Moselle . The catchment area of the Ahbach , which also flows into the Ahr less than five kilometers above the Trierbach, borders from southwest to west to northwest .
