Schönebeck is a district of the municipality of Gumtow in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .
geography
The place is nine kilometers north of Gumtow and 25 kilometers east of Perleberg . The inhabited area of Breitenfeld belongs to the northernmost district of the community of Gumtow and is located three kilometers northeast of the village.
Neighboring towns are Boddin in the north, Langnow and Breitenfeld in the north-east, Waldhof , Kolrep and Kolrep expansion in the south-east, Dannenwalde in the south, Friedheim and Kehrberg in the south-west, and Klein Woltersdorf and Seefeld in the north-west.
history
Around 1800 the place belonged to the Pritzwalkischen district in the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg . In a description of the Mark Brandenburg from the year 1804, the 44 Hufe large village and estate with a total of 103 inhabitants and 19 fireplaces was given. In addition to eight full farmers, two residents were active here. At that time, the Stift zum Heiligengrabe monastery was the owner of the place that was postal address to Kyritz .
Schönebeck was a municipality in the Ostprignitz district until July 24, 1952 and then came to the Pritzwalk district . On March 1, 1970, the neighboring Breitenfeld was incorporated into Schönebeck and became a district. On August 10, 1992, Schönebeck became an official parish of the newly formed Gumtow Office and on December 6, 1993, the new Prignitz district came into being. Since June 30, 2002, the place is part of the municipality of Gumtow through the amalgamation of Schönebeck and 15 other municipalities. On this date the previously independent municipality had 190 inhabitants.

traffic
The place is located directly on the federal highway 103, which runs from Pritzwalk in the northwest to Kyritz in the southeast . This is led around the village center along the western edge of the settlement. In addition, Kehrberg in the southwest and the state road 146 that runs there can be reached via county road 7011. There are also connecting routes to Breitenfeld, Dannenwalde and Klein Woltersdorf.
