The Gumtow Office was an office formed in 1992 in which 16 municipalities in the then (rural) districts of Pritzwalk and Kyritz (today the district of Prignitz , Brandenburg ) were combined into an administrative association. In 2002 the municipalities belonging to the office merged to form the Gumtow municipality .

At the time of its formation, the office of Gumtow was still in the (rural) districts of Pritzwalk and Kyritz. It bordered in the north on the office Groß Pankow / Prignitz and on the office Pritzwalk-Land , in the northeast on the office Heiligengrabe / Blumenthal , in the east on the office Wittstock-Land and the office Kyritz , and in the south on the office Plattenburg .

Office Gumtow

The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the creation of the Gumtow Office on July 31, 1992. August 10, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office according to the official model 1 (establishment of its own office administration) had its seat in Gumtow and initially consisted of 15 communities in the districts of Pritzwalk and Kyritz (according to the order in the official gazette):

In a notification of change, the municipality of Görike was also assigned to the Gumtow office. Thus the office had 16 official municipalities under its administration. At the end of 1992 the Gumtow district had 4498 inhabitants. On June 30, 2002 the 16 municipalities belonging to the office formed the new municipality of Gumtow. The Gumtow office was dissolved at the same time. At this time the Gumtow office had 4285 inhabitants.

Office Director

The official director was Stefan Freimark, who in 2002 also became mayor of the non-official municipality of Gumtow.
