Granzow is a district of the municipality of Gumtow in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located in the Königsfließ nature reserve 2 kilometers south of Gumtow and 29 kilometers southeast of Perleberg . The village is surrounded by an open agricultural landscape and, to a small extent, there are smaller patches of forest. Charmingly embedded in the landscape, the village represents a transition between landscape and settlement area that is unique in the municipality of Gumtow. Located on the southern ridge of a slight chain of hills, the street village offers the viewer an intact village ensemble on all access roads. A special feature of this region is the nature that has been shaped by humans but has been largely untouched for many years.

The neighboring towns are Gumtow in the north, Demerthin in the north-east, Berlitt in the south-east, Barenthin in the south, Görike in the south-west, Schönhagen in the west, and Döllen in the north-west.

history

On June 30, 2002 Granzow merged with 15 other communities to form the community of Gumtow. At that time the place had 148 inhabitants.
