Königsfließ (nature reserve)

The Königsfließ nature reserve is located in the municipality of Gumtow ( Prignitz district ) and the city of Kyritz ( Ostprignitz-Ruppin district ) in Brandenburg .
The area with the identification number 1473 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of December 23, 2003 . The 260 hectare nature reserve extends northwest of the core town of Kyritz. The B 5 runs along the eastern edge of the area through which the Kyritzer Königsfließ flows .
meaning
The nature reserve is part of a wet lowland area with flat moor soils within the Kyritzer Platte . The purpose of protection is the preservation and development of the area
- as a habitat for wild plant communities , in particular wet meadows and pastures as well as alder forests
- as a habitat or retreat and a potential center for re-proliferation of wild animal species; this includes strictly protected bird species, e.g. B. Lapwing , common snipe , reed warbler , reed warbler and kingfisher
- because of its special nature and ecological importance as an almost uncut open wet lowland area with diverse site conditions
- as part of the biotope network between the Kolreper and Dannenwalder Luch lowlands and the Karthaneniederung
