history

Döllen was first mentioned in 1344.

From the 1950s it was part of the Kyritz district on the northwestern edge of the Potsdam district . Even if the place name sign belonged to the Kyritz district until the 2000s, Döllen was added to the Prignitz district and the then Gumtow district as early as 1993 .

On June 30, 2002, Döllen merged with 15 other communities to form the community of Gumtow. At that time, 217 people lived here.

The place has 179 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2012).

Culture and sights

The town center is medieval and registered as an extensive ground monument. The church, a rectangular field stone building, with a polyponal apse and western broad tower, is a listed building, as are the many half-timbered buildings with gateways.

traffic

Döllen is located directly on federal highway 5 , which connects Poland and Denmark via Frankfurt (Oder) , Berlin , Hamburg and Flensburg . Nevertheless, it has become difficult to reach Döllen by public transport since 2016: Since the takeover by the PrignitzBus company, regular connections have been very rare, usually an on-call bus has to be called.

The nearest train station is around 15 kilometers away in Glöwen . Here the RE2 runs every hour ( Cottbus - Wittenberge (- Wismar )). The Kyritz train station on the Neustadt – Meyenburg railway line is also 15 kilometers away .
